Hey Nooners,
We’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the best way to launch our governance token ($NOON), and we wanted to bring you into the conversation.
Here’s the thing, we’re in a pretty unique position. We don’t have VCs or KOLs breathing down our necks to list ASAP so they can cash out. That means we get to make decisions based purely on what’s best for you and for Noon’s long-term success. Pretty cool, right?
So we’ve been looking at the timing for transferability (when the token becomes tradable), and honestly? We’re thinking it might make sense to wait a bit. Here’s why:
- The market’s been kind of quiet lately, not exactly the vibe we want for our launch
- Our CEX partners have been flagging that a better window may coming up later in Q1 2026
- The time immediately before / after the holidays is always slow
- We’ve got some really exciting stuff in the pipeline, new vaults, fresh borrowing opportunities, that would hit better with a stronger launch momentum
We’re looking at pushing back transferability by 1 or 2 months, initially targeting late January 2026 as a sweet spot.
We want to be straight with you: this isn’t us kicking the can down the road indefinitely. This is a strategic adjustment to make sure we nail the launch and give $NOON the best possible start in the market.
But here’s the important part, we want to hear what YOU think.
We’re opening this up for discussion on the forum for the next 7 days, and then we’ll run an on-chain snapshot vote for another 7 days after that. This is your community too, and we want to make this decision together.
Let us know your thoughts!
